Sarah Gregor

Brief Biography:
Sarah is a graduate of the Master of Science in Physical Therapy program at the University of Toronto. As a physiotherapist, Sarah is interested to research rehabilitation questions that she can one day apply to her day-to-day practice. Her doctoral work explores how rhythmic abilities may influence walking rehabilitation after stroke. Furthermore, Sarah is interested in learning how to become a more effective and compassionate educator within entry-to-practice Physical Therapy programs. Her interest led to her join the Bridging Lab(s) to be the inaugural person to complete a Health Professions Education - Practice Based Fellowship. Through her fellowship she collaborated on an interprofessional education project that is a partnership with the Chinese University of Hong Kong and University of Toronto.

Brief Biography:
Brett holds a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the Pennsylvania State University.
Research Focus:
Using applied linguistics and semiotic methods to investigate the interplay between emotion, language use, and health professions education, and to then use findings to develop critically reflective practices as praxis in health professions.
What does your work aim to bridge?
Through my research, I aim to better understand the role of language and emotion in critically reflective practices of health professions education, using methodologies and paradigms informed by applied linguistics.
Maya Fields

Brief Biography:
Maya is currently in her third year of her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences, at the University of Guelph. Maya's interest in health sciences through an interdisciplinary lens has brought her to join the Bridging Lab(s) as a research student. She aims to learn more about interprofessional relationships through her three research projects. She is expanding her skills in web design through two websites: one for a youth outreach project, and this lab website. She is also assisting with Dr. Ng's youth outreach project that shows unique careers in interprofessional and interdisciplinary health care/science to high school and university students. Finally, Maya is working on an article for Canadian Audiologist, exploring audiologist's impacts beyond audiology.
